UK Athletics Affiliation

A decision has been made by the committee that Olney Runners will affiliate with England Athletics for 2010/11. England Athletics (EA) is the governing body of road running and other athletic sports in England, and affiliation provides a number of benefits for us all: Public liability insurance for coaches, officials and volunteers. Club members do not pay unattached levy in EA permitted races (subject to individual affiliation - see below). Provision for coach development and training. Race permits including public liability insurance. Competition rules. However, these benefits now come at a price: Competing members must pay an additional individual affiliation fee (£5 in 20010/11) or pay the unattached levy in EA permitted races. Clubs or individuals must provide membership data for all competing members. Coaching qualifications are mandatory. Race organisers do not retain unattached levies. So, what does this mean for an Olney Runner? If you wish to compete in EA races and benefit from reduced entry fees, it is your responsibility to join (affiliate to) EA as an individual competing member. Please complete the application form and return to the Olney Runners Membership Secretary. Download individual affiliation application form (PDF 24KB) The committee will review the affiliation situation again for 2011/12. If you have questions about any aspect of affiliation, please speak to an Olney Runners Committee member or see the England Athletics website for more details: http://www.englandathletics.org/page.asp?section=454§ionTitle=Club+Affiliation
