National/European Duathlon and National Sprint Triathlon Championships 2009

This is a generic training programme for the National Duathlon Series, European Duathlon and National Sprint Triathlon, 2009. Please note that this plan assumes a degree of prior physical preparation and is a guideline only. Please discuss with your coach prior to embarking on any plan or, for more detailed individual support, please contact me directly. Individual session content is the responsibility of the athlete under guidance from your coach and the plan can be adapted to accommodate any group's training cycle as required.

National Duathlon Championships 2008

This training programme is for the National Duathlon Championships, April 2008. This is a demanding schedule so please do not embark on it without discussing first with your coach. Please note also that you will need to already be training to 15 miles running and 60 biking to launch straight into week 1, otherwise please build up gently. The Endurance phase is hard going - please ensure that you take advantage of the rest period in Week 7. Mileage also reduces in weeks 9 and 10 to accommodate the races and the speed endurance phase will hopefully include some track time
