This training programme is for the National Duathlon Championships. This is a demanding schedule so please do not embark on it without discussing first with your coach. Please note also that you will need to already be training to 15 miles running and 60 biking to launch straight into week 1, otherwise please build up gently. The Endurance phase is hard going - please ensure that you take advantage of the rest period in Week 7. Mileage also reduces in weeks 9 and 10 to accommodate the races and the speed endurance phase will hopefully include some track time.
